Triple Play Infrastructure with Tornado M10

Triple play, or integrated voice, video and data service offerings, is the buzz word in the telecommunication industry today. Many telecom executives believe that in a world of increased competition and falling margins of telecom services, offering integrated bundles is the only way to survive. To enable triple play infrastructure, service providers need high speed infrastructure, central management system and intelligent end user devices that can deliver to the end user data, video and voice streams in a convenient and reliable manner.

Tornado M10 is a highly functional Digital Media Center that can be used for delivery of voice, video and data to the end user. The device stands behind network edge points such as Wireless Access Points (WAP) or Ethernet Switches and serves as incoming gateway for all IP data. Upon receiving data, Tornado M10 converts it to video, voice or data streams and delivers them to the end device (e.g. TV set, home entertainment systems, phones or personal computers). The Tornado M10 offers rich features, high processing power, and multiple interfaces to accommodate different kinds of end devices (currently the product offers Ethernet, Video, Voice (FXS and FXO), and wireless interfaces). Besides serving the needs of the end user, the device is designed with the service provider needs in mind: device management, provisioning and firmware upgrades can be done remotely, so that service providers can implement changes in their infrastructures quickly and with minimal costs.
